FA4Change donated new sewing machine to Miss K.Madhavi at Pathikonda Village, Chittoor District on 29th May, 2014

Dear Friends,

As a part of 'Sankalpam' Programme:

'Friends Association for a Change' donated a new sewing machine to Miss. K. Madhavi, who is from a very poor financial background and is interested in tailoring. She already got trained on tailoring work from a trainer and expected our help to start working on her own in her village.

Madhavi is 17 years old and she discontinued her intermediate education (2 years back) due to financial problems. Her father is expired and her mother is a daily wages worker.

Jayamma (madhavi mother) is not interested to continue with madhavi education, as they are in need of money to have some food on daily basis. So even Madhavi decided to work on daily basis along with her mother by leaving behind her education.

As we are all educated, we suggested Madhavi to continue her education. Madhavi had to travel 15 to 20 kms from her village to continue her education. But her mother rejected to send her daughter to college due to security problems. Finally, we convinced Madhavi to continue her education through distance education. Our friend: Mr. Sreenivalusu Thumsi is the one who identified this family and gathered the complete details and also came forward voluntarily to bear the education expenses of Madhavi.

After the colleges are reopened, our friend: Mr.Sreenivasulu will take care of her complete education expenses.

As Madhavi and her mother need to lead their life to have some food by earning money, 'Friends Association for a Change' donated a new sewing machine to Madhavi on 29th May, 2014. So that she can work on tailoring on her own sewing machine in her village as well as she can continue with her distance education. As informed above, Madhavi already got trained on tailoring work with her own expenses and is interested in tailoring. Whereas, her mother: Jayamma is habituated to daily wages labor and is not interested in tailoring.
