FA4C - Pragathi : Plants donation drive held at Vasanth Nagar, Hyderabad on 26th July, 2014

Dear Friends,

Pragathi:

Friends Association for a Change donated 200 plants to the public at Vasanth Nagar, Hyderabad on 26th July, 2014.

Last year to encourage our team, we donated 600+ plants with around 45+ varieties of plants which can be grown both on earth as well as in pots.
But this year, we totally concentrated on the plants that can be grown only on earth and not in pots within the houses.

Here is the list of plants which we donated to public:
Guava            : 50 plants
Amla               : 40 plants
Papaya          : 10 plants
Pomegranate : 50 plants
Lemon           : 10 plants
Drum Stick     : 40 plants

Mr.Murali Krishna Reddy inquired on the government nurseries in Hyderabad and approached a nursery at Erragadda, Hyderabad. As they sell the plants which grow very big in size, we kept inquiring on the nurseries in Hyderabad to identify the plants which can be grown in houses and only on earth.

Mr.Muktheshwar Patnam lead this event with his efforts. He inquired the details of plants at Forest Nursery, Near Kompally, Hyderabad by visiting the nursery. He took a DD in the bank on the name of the Forest Nursery and purchased the plants from the forest nursery. He transported the plants from Kompally to Vasanth Nagar and donated the plants to the public at Vasanth Nagar with the help of our friends on 26th July, 2014. We gathered the signatures and details of the public whoever received the plants from our organization.

The expenditure for purchasing the plants and transportation is spent by the organization.

Vidyabhyasam : 12 students educated by 'Friends Association for a Change' in the year 2014

Dear Friends,

Vidyabhyasam:

Every year we select students to support towards their education from 6th to 10th standard. The students who are facing financial problems in continuing their education from 6th to 10th standard will be supported by our organization and we mostly prefer orphans / students having only mother. We support students only from Govt. Schools / GVMC and Municipal Corporation High Schools / Zilla and Mandal Parishad Schools / Aided Schools.

Below are the progress reports of the 8 students supported by 'Friends Association for a Change' in the year 2013 and also the complete details of the 4 new students selected by us in the year 2014.

Special thanks to our friends: Miss.Pallavi, Mr. Sreenivasulu Thumsi and Mr.Ramanjaneyulu who had done an excellent work in social service in the year 2013 as well as in the year 2014. They followed up with the progress of the 8 students, they rejoined the students who discontinued their education, they enquired the list of 4 new students who are capable to get the benefits of financial support provided by us and even they volunteered in purchasing all the books, stationary, uniforms, slippers etc to the students in the year 2013 as well as in the year 2014. The time and efforts spent by them can never be returned back.The field work done by them is really appreciable.

90% of the work is already completed:

We already purchased and donated all the required note books, stationary, uniforms, slippers and even paid the school fee to all the 12 students selected by FA4Change in the year 2014. Almost 90% of the work is completed. We are pending with the uniforms of the students at Visakhapatnam. On completing the process, we will share the details of the donations done by us soon.

Sphoorthi: FA4C - Blood Donors from March, 2014 to July, 2014

Dear Friends,

We have been receiving many blood requirement calls from Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam cities.

As our friends have been spreading the blood requirement emails (communicated by us) to their friends using Facebook, Twitter and Gmail, It has become quite tough for us to track down the blood donors across locations. Anyway our only intention is to thank them. Thanks to each and every one of you who donated their blood as well as for sharing the blood requirement details to your friends on Facebook, Twitter and Gmail.  It is because of you, we are succeeding in solving the blood requirement calls.

Few of the blood donors (our friends) whom we are able to track in the past few months:

1)      Swati Gunda utilized the blood donor cards provided by Syam Dondaparthi and Vinod Sravanam during medical emergency to her mother at Visakhapatnam on 28^th March, 2014.

2)      Ramu Singampalli donated his blood during medical emergency in the month of April, 2014 at Hyderabad.

3)      Ravi Kumar.T donated his blood during medical emergency at Star Hospital, Hyderabad for a patient who is undergoing heart bypass surgery on 29^th May, 2014.

4)      Sarat Busi donated his blood during medical emergency to a patient on 8^th July, 2014 at Visakhapatnam.

5)      Demudu Naidu donated his blood to a blood bank voluntarily and provided his blood donor card during medical emergency to a patient on 8^th July, 2014 at Visakhapatnam.

From almost past 6 months we have been receiving many blood requirement calls from Hyderabad. To help the patients to our maximum extent at Hyderabad, our FA4Change - Hyderabad Location Incharge: Mr. Patnam Muktheshwar started discussions with various blood banks available within the city. We will let you know soon on the progress.
