Dear Friends,
Mee Nestham:
Friends Association for a Change participated in cleaning the roads of Visakhapatnam City on 18th Oct, 2014 from 9 AM to 12 Noon at Chaitanya Nagar, Maddilapalem, Visakhapatnam.
This event is planned especially for the sake of the damage created by Hud Hud Cyclone.
Our friend Mohana Rao Vanumu reached GVMC office on 17th Oct, 2014 and inquired on the areas and roads which are blocked by fallen trees and are still pending to be cleaned. Again on 18th Oct,2014, he reached GVMC office early in the morning at 6 AM (GVMC office is currently running 24*7) and got the confirmation on the GVMC vehicles facility and timings.
GVMC provided vehicles for cleaning the roads at 9 AM on 18th Oct, 2014 at Chaitanya Nagar, Maddilapalem, Visakhapatnam.
Here are the list of our friends who volunteered in cleaning the roads:

A few photographs of the event:
Sincere thanks to our friends for participating so actively in this event.
This is not the end of the activities done by our team on 18th Oct, 2014:
On the same day (18th Oct, 2014), from afternoon session, our friends visited 3 villages and distributed 400 KG’s of rice and 200 liters of Sunflower Oil to poor and cyclone effected people in the villages of Visakhapatnam District. We will share the photographs and details of the rice and oil distribution in a separate post.
The work done by our friends on 18th Oct, 2014 is outstanding. They have spent their entire day in social service. Though they are physically strained by cleaning the roads in the morning session itself, they never withdrew their intention on visiting the villages on the same day. We will share the complete details to you on a separate post.
Regards,
