FA4C donated 8,000 Braille sheets to 'Aasara Swachanda Seva Sangham' located at Padmanabham Village, Visakhapatnam District, AP on 1st July, 2015

Dear Friends,

Vidyabhyasam:

Friends Association for a Change donated 8,000 Braille sheets to 'Aasara Swachanda Seva Sangham' located at Padmanabham Village, Visakhapatnam District, AP on 1st July, 2015.

These 8,000 Braille sheets are transported from Hyderabad to Vizianagaram (which is 15 kms from Padmanabham).

The 8,000 Braille sheets are received by Mr. R. Jagadeesh Babu on 1st July, 2015.

'Aasara Swachanda Seva Sangham' is started by Mr. Jagadeesh (who is visually challenged by birth) to help the visually challenged students in their education by preparing and providing Braille text books and audio CD's at free of cost.

16,000 rupees is the cost of 8,000 Braille sheets. To know the reasons behind the cost of Braille paper, Mr. Muktheshwar Patnam and Mr. Vinod Sravanam visited Lorven Industries located near Mahender Reddy Gardens, Bowenpally, Hyderabad on 20th June, 2015.

The Braille long roll purchased from Hyderabad paper house is cut into pieces of 8 rolls and then each roll is inserted into a machine to punch on either sides and to cut the roll into sheets of required size along with printing. This is a bit expensive process including transportation of rolls.
