FA actively participated in the Walkathon to create awareness on Organ Donation at Hyderabad on 30th Dec,2012

Dear Friends,

'Friends Association for a Change' always supports and encourages to create awareness among the people on the 'Importance of Organ Donation'.

As invited by Sri Lalitha Raghuram (Director of Mohan Foundation, India), our team actively participated in the walk for a noble cause supporting 'ORGAN DONATION' at Hyderabad on 30th December,2012.

The Walkathon has been organized at Hyderabad on 30th December,2012 from People's Plaza on Necklace Road to PVN Gyan Bhoomi.


This event has been organized by 'Vikasa Tarangini - Youth' (a Social Service Organization run under the guidance of Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji) in partnership with Mohan Foundation. The members from various private organizations, social service organizations, schools and colleges supporting 'Organ Donation' have been a part of this event.
We would like to specially thank each and every one from our team who actively participated in this event.

FA donated old news papers to the education of Visually Challenged across Hyderabad and Bangalore on 29th Dec,2012

Dear Friends,

Our team donated old news papers towards the education of the visually challenged students across Hyderabad and Bangalore on 29th December,2012.


The News papers are donated at Devnar School for the Blind (Hyderabad) and Shree Ramana Maharishi Academy for the Blind (Bangalore).

Special Thanks:

1) To all our team members for donating the old news papers towards the education of the Visually Challenged students.

2) For the initiative and leading the event successfully: 

       a) Hyderabad: Uma Deepthi Chitta, Syam Kiran Peyyala, Srinivasa Rao Ravuri, Vinayaka Tejaswi, Murali Krishna Reddy, Bhushan, Mukteshwar Patnam, Vinod Sravanam.

       b) Bangalore: Vijay Phanideep, Rajendra Prasad, Khaja Mohiddin, Kiran Kumar Perni, Heymanth Kumar

3) Sri Hari for providing his own vehicle for the transport of old news papers to the school at Hyderabad.


Our team members placed a step ahead with their personal interest (apart from the news papers donation):

1) Our team members (Hemanth Kumar Tarumani and Kiran Kumar Perni) from Bangalore placed a step ahead with their personal interest by purchasing and donating 10 slates (cost 125 rupees each) which are very useful towards the education of the visually challenged students.

2) Our team members (Uma Deepthi Chitta and Vinayaka Tejaswi) from Hyderabad purchased chocolates with their personal interest and our team distributed them to all the 500 visually challenged students of Devnar School.




This event is considered as a part of 'Vidyabhyasam'.

FA donated study materials to 10th students of Andhra University Telugu Medium School at Visakhapatnam on 15th Dec,2012

Dear Friends,

As the 10th standard public examinations of 2013 are closer and as per the request from the faculty of Andhra University Telugu Medium High School, 'Friends Association for a Change' purchased and donated 10th standard government study materials to 47 students of 10th standard at Andhra University Telugu Medium High School (@ Visakhapatnam) on 15th December,2012.


These study materials published by the State Board of Andhra Pradesh includes all the 6 subjects of 10th standard education and the cost of each material is 70 rupees.We are sure that each and every student will get benefited in their 10th standard education, with the help of these study materials.

Update on Board Meetings held at Visakhapatnam and Team Meeting held at Hyderabad


Dear Friends,

Greetings!!!

Board Meetings:

The board meetings are held on 13th of October, 15th of November and 4th of December of 2012.

These meetings included the discussion on:

ü  Organization Structure (framed the organization structure and yet to confirm).
ü  ICICI Bank Account (Currently, bank account is active and an initial amount of 47,260 rupees which is pending with us till the month of October,2012 is deposited into the account. Will share the bank details soon after receiving the online credentials through courier).
ü  Pan Card on the name of the society (Pending with the Income Tax Dept currently).
ü  Website and Blog updates (Currently, Website is under construction and the blog is up with the latest updates)
ü  Designing and Printing of Receipt books, Letter pad, Preparing the organization stamps (Everything is done. We might modify in the next print if any modifications are required).
ü  Events implemented and the financial expenditure during the events.
ü  Future activities planning and Implementation (Events are planned for the next one year as per the seasons, but we will be declaring only during implementation).
ü  Dividing the team members further into teams across locations and tracking the contributions (Hyd team of around 90 members are further divided into minor teams internally)

We have more than 80%  attendance during the board meetings.

Meeting conducted by our team on 4th Dec, 2012 at Hyderabad:

MOM:

The team started with the discussion on the journey of FA till now then the future activities planned for FA in Hyderabad as follows:

Sponsoring a child for education:
We planned to identify a child who is financially poor and not able to reach the requirements to get educated at school level (preferably studying 5th standard and above). If anyone can find such a school, please send us a mail, we can get in touch with them.
              
Old Newspaper Distribution to Blind School:
                We are planning to distribute Old newspapers to Blind School within this month, request all of you to come up with as much newspapers as possible. We will give an official communication on this soon.

Blood Requirements:
                We planned to identify a team of few members to take up the requests that we receive for blood requirements. Team should be able to attend the calls or mails as soon as it comes up and sent it out to all the members.

Contribution Collection:
                The minimum mandatory amount for membership per month is 20 Rs/-. However already existing members can contribute as much they wish to FA.

FA completed 1 year journey as a TEAM

Dear Friends,

WE COMPLETED ONE YEAR OF OUR JOURNEY TOGETHER AS A TEAM.

ü  2nd December, 2011 is the day on which we started receiving the contributions from our team. It is the day we started working towards social activities actively.

 ü  We completed one year of our successful journey overcoming all the up’s and down’s with the great efforts & support from all of our friends.

 ü  Though we are officially government registered as a society with the name: ‘Friends Association for a Change’ on 5th October, 2012 , it is one year back we started working as a TEAM towards social activities.

 ü  Currently, we are a team of 283+ members across locations working in various organizations and in different occupations.

 ü  We would like to thank each and everyone who supported, encouraged and even played an active role in our journey. We would like to specially thank each and every one among our parents who have been encouraging us whole heartedly.

FA donated uniforms to HIV affected children at Hyderabad & Served lunch to Visually Challenged Children at Visakhapatnam on 14th Nov, 2012


Dear Friends,

FA events done on Children’s Day : 14th November,2012  across Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam

1)      On the occasion of Children’s day, our team spent time with the HIV affected children at Hyderabad who are being taken care by Desire Society. On behalf of ‘Friends Association for a Change’ we have contributed 4 pairs of uniforms to 2 students (who are in urgent need of uniforms) and distributed chocolates to the entire strength of 60 children. The other part which touched our team is that no one is aware of how many days that these children will be alive on this earth. We hope that everyone among them should recover and enjoy their life in a beautiful way.

The Desire society supports children suffering from HIV and is taking care of them to live a happy life. The society management conducted certain cultural programs for the entertainment of the children on 14th November,2012:
                            Children enjoying the fancy dress program and visitors encouraging the children.


This event is considered as a part of 'Vidyabhyasam'.


2)    ‘Friends Association for a Change’ donated food (Lunch) and even distributed sweets to all the 50 Visually Challenged Students of ‘Visakha Model School for the Blind’ at Visakhapatnam on 14th November,2012:


This event is considered as a part of 'Mee Nestham'.

FA donated blankets to old age people at Agraharam Village,Near Ramachandrapuram, East Godavari Dist on 4th November,2012


Dear Friends,

Our team donated blankets to the 16 identified people who are financially poor, aged and widows and even to the mentally retarded at a small village named Agraharam (5kms from Ramachandrapuram, East Godavari District).

1) We requested all the identified people to gather at the house of one of our team members: Satish Kumar Pidim and donated the blankets.

2) There is an old women who travelled 4kms from her place she stay to receive the blanket.

3) A mentally retarded person being taken care by the village people is provided with the blanket from us.


None of them are educated to understand what we do as a team to the society. But for the happiness they felt they blessed our entire team to grow up in life.

Donated plants during FA Team Meeting (Get Together) held on 15th September,2012 at Visakhapatnam

Dear Friends,

FA Get Together @ Poorna Function Hall, Visakhapatnam held on 15th September, 2012:

53 members (including 2 children) of our FA team from Visakhapatnam attended FA Get Together on 15th September,2012.

ü  We introduced each and everyone in the team with the rest of the team members.

ü  We celebrated the birthday of the First Youngest Member: Tanmayi Eswarapu who joined Friends Association on her Birthday i.e on 15th September,2012 (Tanmayi completed 6yrs and entered into her 7th year) and even contributed to FA from her pocket money. Tanmayi stands as an inspiration to our entire team.

ü  We had our team lunch. We ordered 75 plates for catering. We donated the food (with all the items) which is left behind (because of the absentees) to the nearby Old Age Home:  Prema Samajam, Near 2 Town Police Station, Daba Gardens, Visakhapatnam – 530020. Phone: +(91)-(891)-2544774.

ü  We discussed on all the important future plans of FA and gathered the valuable suggestions from our team. The suggestions given by our FA team will be given High Priority. We are planning to finalize on FA ‘Mission’ and ‘Vision’ as per the Rules and Regulations of Government by 30th September,2012.


ü  As an occasion of FA Get together, FA Badges were inaugurated by Ravi Eswarapu and Ram Shankar Pilla on 15th September,2012 at Visakhapatnam. The First FA badge is kept on the hands of Tanmayi Eswarapu to Trivikiram Karthikeya Yellapu (S/O Swati Yellapu). And then both of the children distributed the badges to the rest of our team members. We planned to deliver the badges to our entire team across other locations by the end of this month.

ü  We conducted games and distributed gifts to our team.

ü  We purchased 50 plants and distributed them to our team members on the get together day.

ü  Banka Santosh Kumar for providing his own vehicle for the transportation of food to the old age home.
ü  Aruna Asi, Usha Kalpana Rayudu, Neelima Samineni, Adarsh  and Swati Yellapu for planning, purchasing the gifts and even for organizing the games successfully.

Donated plants during FA Team Meeting (Get Together) held on 8th September,2012 at Hyderabad


Dear Friends,

FA Get Together @ Botanical Gardens, Hyderabad held on 8th September, 2012:

31 members (almost 50%) of our FA team from Hyderabad attended FA Get Together on 8th September,2012.

ü  We introduced each and everyone in the team with the rest of the team members.

ü  We had our team lunch. We ordered 35 plates for catering. And the food is cooked for 40 members. And only 29 members from our team had their lunch on the get together day.

ü  We donated the food(with all the items) which is left behind (because of the absentees) to the nearby:  Satya Sai Seva Sangh Old Age Home , 1-104/1,White Field, Near Anjaiahnagar Busstop, Gachibouli, Kothaguda, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India 500084. Phone: 91-40-23000479 23005634.

ü  We discussed on all the important future plans of FA and gathered the valuable suggestions from our team. The suggestions to FA given by our team will be given a High Priority. We planned to discuss on the same with the Vizag team and then finalize on FA ‘Mission’ and ‘Vision’ as per the Rules and Regulations of Government by 30th September,2012.

ü  As the badges were delivered to us on 10th September,2012, we are unable to deliver FA badges on the get together day on 8th Sep,2012 @ Hyd. We will be delivering the badges in Vizag on 15th Sep,2012 on the get together day itself. And planned to deliver the badges to our entire team across other locations by the end of September.

ü  We conducted games and distributed 10 gifts to our team and even chocolates to all the participants.

ü  We purchased 45 plants and distributed them to our team and even to the public(who are within the garden) on the get together day.

ü  Balu for providing his own vehicle in the transportation of food to the old age home and even for the transportation of plants from a nursery(near Bahadurpally) to Botanical gardens, Madhapur.
ü  Balachandran Puja, Fathima Syed, Naveena and Usha Kalpana Rayudu for planning, for purchasing the articles & gifts required for conducting the games and organizing the games successfully. 


ü  Syam Kiran Peyyala, Murali Krishna Reddy, Geetanjali Naik, Pallavi Gandhe, Raghavendra Naidu, Krishna Chaitanya Nannapaneni and Kiran Babu Sravanam for organizing and leading the FA Get Together event successfully.
ü FA felt proud to see the interest and commitment shown by Naveena Marouthu by travelling all the way from Pune to Hyderabad especially to attend the FA Get Together.

FA helped a student Rahul by paying his School Fee for the year 2012

Dear Friends,

Our Team paid the School Fee Payment (One-Time) to a student studying 6th standard from AU Telugu Medium School:

Student Details:
Name: Rahul Kumar.
Rahul is studying 6th Standard B Section in Andhra University Telugu Medium School.
His father is expired and mother is working as a servant.

Regarding Rahul Education:
ü  Text Books are provided to Rahul by the Government through the school management for this year.
ü  Uniforms are donated by the school teaching staff.
ü  Note books are donated by our team to Rahul during the event on 16th July,2012.

Rahul who is need of help to pay his School Fee is helped by Rakesh Kumar Sunkara and Devi Priya Relangi.

ü  Rakesh Kumar Sunkara and Devi Priya Relangi came forward immediately and paid the school fee of 615 rupees to Rahul kumar on behalf of their team.
ü  Though Rakesh Kumar Sunkara and Devi Priya Relangi are leading a team in separate from the past 2 yrs and are working towards social activities, they joined Friends Association with their own interest and have been working to their best in supporting, suggesting and through active participation of FA activities.

FA Get Together Updates held on 8th Sep,2012 at Hyderabad and held on 15th Sep,2012 at Visakhapatnam

Main Reasons behind FA Get Together:
ü  Everyone among us should interact with the rest of the FA team members so as to work together during the social activities.

Special Thanks to Abhinava Raghava.G.M (one of our FA team members) for providing his own Poorna Function Hall towards the event of Friends Association Get Together in Visakhapatnam on 15th September,2012.
ü  We are provided with this Function Hall at Free of Rent.
ü  The Function Hall is Air Conditioned and provided with 4 wheeler as well as 2 wheeler parking.
ü  We are requested to provide only the maintenance charges (Current, Cleaning, (From Outsiders: Chairs and Tables(used for catering)) etc: 2500 rupees) for utilizing the function hall on 15th September,2012.

As our team is not willing to draw the amount from FA for conducting get together events, 100 rupees per head is the amount that we are planning to gather from our team.

Friends Association planned Get Together on 8th Sep,2012 at Hyderabad & on 15th Sep,2012 at Visakhapatnam

Dear Friends,

Friends Association planned for a get together in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam locations. As we have a strength of 140+ members from Visakhapatnam and 65+ members from Hyderabad, we hope that this is the time to arrange a get together so as to introduce everyone in the team with each other.

Get together in Hyderabad:
Date: 8th September,2012  
Location: Botanical gardens, Madhapur.

Get together in Visakhapatnam:
Date: 15th September ,2012
Location: Poorna Function Hall(A/C),
Beside Poorna Theater, Poorna Market Area, Visakhapatnam.

We planned for a lunch on the get together day for our entire team.

Important Activities on Get Together Day:
ü  Introduction of each and everyone in the team with the rest of the team members.
ü  FA planned to provide a plant to each of our team members (whoever are interested to grow a plant in their house). 
ü We are planning for Fun Activities on the get together day.
 
For the rest of the team from other locations:
As we do not have a strength of more than 10 members from any other locations, I hope the rest of the team can understand and support us. We always welcome you to join us on the get together day from any of the locations which is close to you.
