FA4C donated 8,000 Braille sheets to 'Aasara Swachanda Seva Sangham' located at Padmanabham Village, Visakhapatnam District, AP on 1st July, 2015

Dear Friends,

Vidyabhyasam:

Friends Association for a Change donated 8,000 Braille sheets to 'Aasara Swachanda Seva Sangham' located at Padmanabham Village, Visakhapatnam District, AP on 1st July, 2015.

These 8,000 Braille sheets are transported from Hyderabad to Vizianagaram (which is 15 kms from Padmanabham).

The 8,000 Braille sheets are received by Mr. R. Jagadeesh Babu on 1st July, 2015.

'Aasara Swachanda Seva Sangham' is started by Mr. Jagadeesh (who is visually challenged by birth) to help the visually challenged students in their education by preparing and providing Braille text books and audio CD's at free of cost.

16,000 rupees is the cost of 8,000 Braille sheets. To know the reasons behind the cost of Braille paper, Mr. Muktheshwar Patnam and Mr. Vinod Sravanam visited Lorven Industries located near Mahender Reddy Gardens, Bowenpally, Hyderabad on 20th June, 2015.

The Braille long roll purchased from Hyderabad paper house is cut into pieces of 8 rolls and then each roll is inserted into a machine to punch on either sides and to cut the roll into sheets of required size along with printing. This is a bit expensive process including transportation of rolls.

Few photographs of FA4C visit to Lorven Industries, Bowenpally, Hyderabad:

Mr. Md. Mahmood Ali is the founder of ‘Madarsa Islamia Arabia Faizul Quran’ (Regd No. 1976/2007) which is located at Chandragiri Nagar, Ward Division No. 125, UMCC Hospital, Gajula ramaram Road, Qutubullapur Mandal, Hyderabad.

Mr. Patnam Muktheshwar and Mr. Vinod Sravanam visited the Madarsa on 20th June, 2015 on behalf of Friends Association for a Change.

· This Madarsa works for teaching Islamic and the subjects: Telugu, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies to the students of this area. This Madarsa is only for teaching and doesn’t accommodate any of the students.

· There are 80 students (of different age groups from surrounding areas) studying in this Madarsa and there are 4 teachers working to educate them.

· The Madarsa had 3 sewing machines which are currently under repair and they do not have a faculty to teach sewing work to students.

We believe that teaching on sewing machines to students from their childhood will be really helpful to them after they grew up (especially to girls).

We accepted to provide salary to a faculty who can teach sewing work to the students for a period of 6 months. The faculty will be appointed in this Madarsa after Ramzan. We will convey further details to you after Ramzan.
